Job Description
Mareel Ltd are looking to employ a shore based Marine Engineer supporting the Crew Transfer Vessel fleet. Located in Deganwy, North Wales, so ideally the candidate should be based within commutable distance of the head office. Our fleet operate throughout the UK and Europe, therefore working away from home and remotely is a regular occurrence. If you enjoy travel and technical challenges, then you might be well suited for this position, your normal work pattern will be two weeks on shift and two weeks off.

Job Criteria
Essential
- Time served mechanical or electrical engineer.
- Minimum Level 3 in engineering or higher, will consider equivalent qualifications or experience
- Minimum 3 years in an Engineering role.
- Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally with our customers.
- Ability to effectively solve problems in high pressure environments
- Ability to work effectively in a team or individually
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Packages & IT literate
Desirable
- Electrical maintenance qualifications
- Experience of asset management and reliability engineering
- Technical expenditure control
Key deliverables of role
- Providing Mareel with high level engineering skills.
- Ensuring the most cost-effective approach to planned and reactive maintenance.
- Provide direct first line support and troubleshooting to vessels crews using (email/phone/app).
- Provide attendance when required during vessel breakdowns managing any assigned sub-contractors and ensuring safe working practices are maintained during the breakdown period.
- Effective in updating and maintaining company documentation.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of an on call technical team.
Product Knowledge would be beneficial for the following:
- Engines- MTU 2000series / Volvo D13 – IPS / Caterpillar
- Waterjets – Ultrajet / MJP / Rolls Royce
- Generators – Caterpillar / Cummins Onan
- Hydraulic systems
- Marine electronics
