Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to apply for the Group Leader post at Gibson House. We are a dynamic team working in a Residential and Respite care home for children and young people aged 11 to 18 with learning disabilities and difficulties, including ASD. The role would include supervising and coordinating staff as well as the day to day care and wellbeing of the children and young people, liaising and working with multi-agency teams and families to further enhance outcomes for the individuals. Ensuring that individuals physical, emotional and social needs are well met.

Gibson House is rated as “Good” by Ofsted for the quality of care and support we provide to children and the difference we make to their lives and those of their families. We offer high quality care that respects and values children in a nurturing and caring environment where abilities are developed and achievements celebrated.

The home operates on a flexible rolling 4 week 24 hour rota, which includes weekends, unsociable hours, sleeping in duties and bank holidays (including Christmas and New year), which are paid at enhanced rates of pay.

You will work as part of and manage a team to increase life skills through a range of activities. In return, we offer a comprehensive induction and training package, regular support and supervision and annual Personal development review.

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.
