The Biomedical Science team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for Band 5-7 Biomedical Scientist Secretary` in to work in a busy NHS Hospital in London. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory's Histology service.
Position: Biomedical Scientist
Banding: 5-7
Location: London
Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5
Pay Rate: £17 - £35/h
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in Histology, you will be expected to be proficient in microtomy able to cut over 30 blocks and hour to a high standard; alongside having experience in embedding and staining. On a day to day basis you will be supporting the senior biomedical scientists in the delivery of the service and providing guidance to junior members of staff.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

HCPC registered
-
UK NHS or private sector experience
-
Histology experience
-
Familiarity with working in a histology department as an Admin Assistant would be advantageous

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
-
Previous experience with working in an office environment preferably medical
-
Familiarity with medical terminology
-
Able to work with consultants and clinicians
-
Has attention to detail
-
Willing to work as part of a team as well as individually

Experience with laboratory Information systems or hospital systems

Typing skills and experience with Microsoft office

AMSPAR qualification preferable

Good professional conduct
