At Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) we have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Delivery Team as a Deputy Service Delivery Manager leading the In-Service Support Team on behalf of the Typhoon Total Availability eNterprise (TyTAN).
The Typhoon Team has entered into a partnering agreement with BAE Systems under the TyTAN support contract. The construct of the contract is to ensure that Typhoon outputs are managed across an enterprise solution. The DE&S Service Delivery team is an integral element of the enterprise and is tasked with supporting the outputs that are directly the responsibility of DE&S.
You will manage the team comprising of the Government Furnished Equipment Facilities and Manpower Manager, the Typhoon Training Simulator and Future Capability lead, the Change Manager and TyTAN Warrant Officer position.
You will lead the delivery of in-service support for both current and future capability, equipment, or services, to meet customer requirements. In addition, you will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to deliver effective integrated and co-ordinated through life support.
To succeed you will need to be proactive with a continuous improvement mindset whilst managing the delivery of multiple, low complexity Control Accounts or single higher-complexity in-service support solutions.
This role is based in our offices in RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, and in-office attendance will be expected as required.
About the role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
· Lead the team in the delivery of support for in-service capability within your area of responsibility, according to customer requirements against the Service Delivery Plan, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and subsequent governance and reporting requirements.
· Monitor service delivery progress and delivery against customer KPIs utilising Management Information, reporting monthly through performance reviews; interpreting data to identify trends, risks, issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.
· Ensure the most cost-effective and efficient means of delivery, whilst mitigating risk and leveraging opportunities.
· Lead on risk management activities, accurately assessing impact and likelihood, whilst developing containment initiatives as well as prioritising, monitoring, reporting and escalating risks as necessary.
· Support, represent and deputise for the TyTAN Service Delivery Manager.
· Maintain Line Management responsibilities for a mixed Civilian and Military Team covering Government Furnished Dependencies, Change Management, Technical Support, Typhoon Simulator Training and Engineering.
· Work collaboratively with Stakeholders to improve performance and drive efficiencies through implementing robust plans that deliver best value for money.
· Liaise with Project Controls to complete monthly Forecast of Outturn and provide input into Programme Cost Reviews within your Area of Responsibility
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
· Strong demonstrable experience of undertaking Operations Management work or associated disciplines (Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Management, Through Life Support).
· Evidence of stakeholder and relationship management, internal and external at all levels.
· Proven capability of leading a team.
It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:
· Knowledge of Operational Fast Jet Maintenance.
· Experience in delivering customer service.
· Ability to interpret and use management information and data.
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
