We are looking for enthusiastic and eager to learn graduates with the ability to adapt to join the Purchasing & Supply Chain graduate programme. The scheme aims to provide the successful applicant with a strong commercial grounding and an introduction to modern purchasing and supply chain practices within a large manufacturing setting.
The Role
This role will be based at our Head Office campus in the heart of Somerset, Chard, and you will undertake a tailored 2-year programme. Your time will be spent on short term placements within the Purchasing & Supply Chain department, gaining experience of all stages of our products lifecycle. Not only will you be working within a great team environment, but you will also be creating valuable solutions for a company that puts our customers’ needs at the heart of everything we do. The graduate will also gain professional development for both soft and hard skills through attending internal and external training programmes.
In addition to receiving first class training, we will also provide you with the exposure to our senior leaders across the business providing you with an opportunity to showcase your talents. We embrace diversity and look to develop our people in the skills and areas they are most interested in, leveraging the qualities and appreciate the unique competencies, skills, and experiences that each person brings to the company. The placement will be centred around the department, with cross functional work in Sales, Product Management, R&D, Production Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing Operations with specific focus on projects to deliver benefits supporting the following areas.
Global Business Planning and Forecast process.
Analytical support across: -
· Sales Forecast Demand management consolidation
· Operational Capacity planning by forecast to Shop floor cells.
Procurement Improvements
Analytical support across: -
· Category Spend programme – focus on cost savings and rationalisation opportunities.
· Global Sustainability requirements – identify measures and initiatives.
Warehouse, Distribution & Inventory management
Analytical support across: -
· Inventory management principles to optimise site capacity utilisation.
· Stock accuracy performance metrics – root cause and gap analysis
· Design and implement strategic improvements, to deliver efficiency benefits and cost savings.
· Drive initiatives to deliver Systems & Process improvement.
The experience and knowledge gained will lead successful candidate to focus on a career with Numatic for the foreseeable future.
