Job Description
This post is for a Research Associate for an internally-funded Research England project entitled The Secret Lives of International PGRs: shedding light on the hidden labour of being and becoming an international student.
This project seeks to uncover the hidden labour undertaken by ‘international’ PGRs that often remains invisible to academic and professional services staff. You will conduct individual interviews and focus group interviews with international PGRs in our School of Education. The aim is to uncloak the ‘hidden challenges’ they encounter and the physical and emotional labour required to face them.
In line with our ethical approach to this work, we would seek to build a set of fictionalised composite case studies, reflecting the unmasked range of the experiences and challenges that our diverse community of PGRs face. We would look to build in forms of engaging dissemination. From this we would further seek to build sets of guidance, co-produced with our international student participants, for supervisors and for students.
You should have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) & be undertaking postgraduate doctoral studies in an Education related subject.
