Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for project co-ordinator to join our unique international partnership and family to support the exchange of Hinemihi and the creation of a new Māori meeting house at Clandon Park.
The role will be based at Wisley although home based working can be explored. You'll be required to work flexibly due to the international nature of this project. There will be out of hours working with earlier morning or later evening meetings (remote), weekend working and some travel.
Interview dates for this role are 16th March and 23rd March.

For over 125 years, the National Trust has looked after coast, countryside, gardens, and historic houses and for everyone to connect and enjoy.
In November 2019, the National Trust agreed in principle with Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga for the original historic carvings of Hinemihi to be returned to New Zealand in exchange for new carvings to establish a new meeting house at Clandon Park. We are working cross culturally, bilingually and across time zones with our partners Te Maru o Hinemihi in the UK and Ngā Kohinga Whakairo o Hinemihi in New Zealand as well as the necessary statutory bodies to develop the exchange proposals.
What you'll be doing:This is a unique and exciting project and partnership and the first of its kind at the National Trust. You'll be joining the partnership as we continue to explore and develop the exchange proposals for the new meeting house, with an immediate focus on the options appraisal for the new meeting house at Clandon Park.
You'll be co-ordinating and supporting meeting set up and delivery with partners across time zones and supporting the project manager in the development of an options appraisal for the new meeting house at Clandon Park.
You'll be working collaboratively with the project team and wider partnership to support project planning and delivery including risks, issues and finances.
You'll be acting as a point of contact for any visit or information requests around the project and supporting the communication and communication channels with our partners.
You'll be supported by national and regional specialists within the National Trust. The Project Team undertake a mixture of remote and onsite working from Clandon or a National Trust hub, most likely London.
You'll report to the Project Manager (Hinemihi).

- The ability to work well both in a team and on your own initiative
- Openness to learn and become familiar with, and sensitive to, different cultural customs, protocols, and world views. This could include the opportunity to attend a beginners Te Reo Māori) language course.
- Able to manage the needs and expectations of different groups.
- Able to advocate internally for the Hinemihi exchange project alongside the project manager and senior project manager.
