Spacestor have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Autodesk Product Design CAD Technician to join their highly innovative and fast-paced R&D team, who are responsible for designing and launching multiple new products and new enhancement annually. Reporting directly to the Product Development Manager, the role is office based at our HQ in Hemel Hempstead, but we are open to hybrid working discussions.

This is a newly created role with the potential to be a key player in our team combining hitting challenging targets and being a part of the strategy development of this area.
Role Mission
Supporting the R&S team to develop new, innovative furniture, fasted. Bringing draughtsperson resource to the team to improve the quality of assemblies and drawings, and improve the document control of the models and BOMs of all new products.
Accountabilities:
- Establish yourself as the R&D document controller (using Autodesk Vault) within the first six months
- Successfully create 3D models and 2D part drawings to company standards
- Projects and tasks completed on time and in full including - manufacturing drawings; changes to existing part models; new part and assembly models and other tasks necessary for the product development function
- Attending daily team huddles - ready to report on current opportunities, KPIs and daily activity
Competencies
- High proficiency in CAD software - preferably Inventor
- Fundamental product design knowledge require, ability to alter part models successfully
- Skilled in creating 2D manufacturing drawings, able to follow and develop company drawing templates and standards. Sheet metal, timber and assembly drawing experience desirable
- Understanding manufacturing methods essential in order to make clear and accurate manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of document control and product life cycle management (PLM) principles to successfully control R&D document in Autodesk Vault
- Completing model assemblies, existing part changes, new part modelling and 2d manufacturing drawings to company standards and within set timescales
- Working with design engineers to improve existing parts and drawings, and help see through engineering change requests
- Attention to detail is critical for checking drawings/designs & maintaining document control
- Supporting and guiding the team to ensure all model/drawings are properly controlled and up to standard

Salary: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
