Dibor is a family run business specialises in Home Accessories and Christmas. Currently we are recruiting for the garden and outdoor senior buyer as we are looking to launch our biggest garden and outdoor ranges.
As a Home & Garden buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, developing and introducing product ranges for our valued customers. To be a successful buyer you must source new merchandise and review existing products to remain competitive, negotiating prices, quantities and delivery time-scales
You have to make sure customer needs are being met, this is so that you are able to provide a commercially viable range and maximise profits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecast trends for home, outdoor and garden products .
- Source vendors for the appropriate items and work closely with buying teams to purchase items in good time for delivery during peak popularity periods
- Develop new product and display ideas to increase customer awareness and interest
- Analyse past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs
- Minimize old stock and consistently source new products
- Work with vendors regarding life cycle of a product, from selection of raw material through to the finished product
- Develop new products to be introduced into our home product lines
- Coordinate with marketing for promos
- Coordinate with goods-in for shipments/samples shipments
- Carrying out trend and market research, attending fairs and inspiration trips
- Liaising with and visiting factories in the Far East and Europe
- Negotiating cost prices and delivery with the manufacturers overseas
- Building and developing ranges
- Working with the merchandising teams to analyse sales and identify ways in which sales could be improved, as well as recognising opportunities for growth in the ranges.
- Previous experience in a similar buying role – experience in Home products desirable
Required Experience, Qualification and Skills:
· Min 4 years of experience is must.
- Strong multi-unit buying background with the experience in multiple categories of home product.
- Strong team interpersonal skills and experience interacting with vendors.
- Degree in business, economics, marketing or related field preferred.
- Experience with merchandising electrical appliances systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in the merchandising or retail industry is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- IT literate, with strong proficiency in excel.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent organisational skills and good time management.
- Must be self-driven, genuine with a positive attitude and clear focus.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45000- £ 60,000per year and can be negotiable
