Job Description
Content & Social Media Executive
Birmingham [2 days office + 3 remote]
If you’ve recently graduated, have a passion for words and are yearning for something a little bit different to your standard nine to five, then you’re in the right place. Here at huzzah! digital, we’re looking for a budding writer and social media wrangler to join the ranks and help with day to day creation of content and social media calendars for our clients.
If you’re serious about making a name in marketing and want the opportunity to get creative, craft brilliant content and work with some super-talented people to get the job done then this could be for you.
A bit about the job:
We’re looking for someone who can/wants to/will:
Learn on the job. This is a really varied role where you’ll get involved with both day to day running of social media accounts and content creation.
- Social Media: Creating calendars and scheduling updates on social media channels; creating bitesized content for social posts; supporting the team with influencer outreach.
- Content: Creating long-form content e.g. writing blogs, press release & emails; and writing roundups of events / video webinars.
We don’t expect you to know it all from the get go, but a willingness to learn and grow your skills is essential. At huzzah!, despite having specialists in the above fields, we all muck in and get our hands dirty during busy periods – so you can expect to learn about every aspect of what we do here.
Be a creative thinker. We may have mentioned this already but we’re only a small team, and sometimes being creative 24/7 can take its toll. That’s why we’ll have regular brainstorms to make sure we’re all supporting each other with ideas for our clients and shouting about cool things we’ve seen online that we could do…but much, much better.
What we’re looking for in you:
We’re an easy-going bunch, and as long as you share the same values as our team and want to create some kick-ass content for our brands then we’re happy to have a chat. Top notch writing is essential in this role, so you will need to have completed a degree in either English/Creative Writing, Marketing or Journalism/Media Studies and an interest in graphic design is advantageous. To show that you know your way around a spreadsheet, some work experience in marketing or admin is desirable but not essential.
We may have mentioned once or twice that we’re a small team so if you’re expecting a grand office bustling with people, you’re not going to get it here. We want people who want to be in our business and help it grow, not just use it as the next stepping stone to something bigger and better. So, if you’re looking to become part of something and are willing to get stuck in then you could really help shape the future of our agency as well as your career.
Things to know:
- We're a close knit team but we all work pretty autonomously too. We're in the office 2 days a week and work from home for the other 3.
- It's a pretty casual affair so there's no dress code and we encourage you to bring your full self to work every day.
- It's an agency environment so it is fast paced, there is a lot of work to do but if you thrive on a challenge and love rolling up your sleeves and just getting stuck in then you'll probably love it.
- We have the usual 23 days holiday, plus bank hols, plus we close for Christmas... because no-one should have to save their holiday days to spend time with the fam.
- We run socials each month where the team get together and eat / drink / play / compete - this can be anything from a head to head in a VR session to karaoke (it does happen), to just eating incredible food. It's when we all get together and get to know one another outside of the parameters of work or clients, and better yet, it's all paid for by huzzah!
