The mortuary department is looking to recruit an Anatomical Pathology Assistant, in the first instance this will be a 6 month fixed term contract. The successful applicant will join our team in providing the best possible care for deceased patients across Shropshire and Mid Wales. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have previous experience of working within a mortuary or similar.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a willingness to improve processes within the mortuary and contribute to the continual improvement of the department.
Good IT skills are a requirement for this post, as is the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and the ability to follow instructions. It is a unique environment and candidates should be comfortable with handling bodies and dealing with bereaved relatives in difficult circumstances.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality are essential.
