We have an exciting opportunity for two Clinical Trial Assistants to join the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU) within Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) based at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford. As a Clinical Trials Assistant within SITU, you will be assisting the trial managers of the group in the successful delivery of research projects. You will provide a comprehensive and efficient administration and support service for the Trials Group for several trials in the SITU portfolio of trials.
Successful research involves collaboration with hospitals around the UK, and you will liaise with a variety of staff both within the trials group and nationally. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting studies through the various phases (set up, recruitment, data collection, monitoring, follow up, close out). While undertaking this role you will be exposed to all aspects of trial management (e.g. financial budgeting, contracting) which are undertaken through the phases of a project, providing a great opportunity to develop an understanding and skills in this area.
You will be educated to A-Level or equivalent secretarial/administrative qualifications or relevant experience and have experience of using administrative skills in office environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as proficiency in spoken/written English, and a high level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Excel and Word is essential. Familiarity with ethics and Research and Development (Research Governance) documentation and of working within an academic research environment would be desirable.
This is a full-time fixed term appointment for 2 years.
