At Charles River, at our site just west of Cambridge, we are offering those currently studying at ARU the opportunity for paid work at weekends in a research environment. You will join the Laboratory Support Team, primarily responsible for the centralised preparation and supply of media, reagents, and consumables. The Team also supports stock control, some equipment maintenance and other cross-disciplinary supporting activities that will directly impact the research and development of novel drug discovery products for the pharmaceutical sector. In this role, you will be immersed into the laboratory environment and can gain invaluable skills and experience that will catapult your CV and show you have proven industry experience when the time comes to secure your first role in the highly competitive job market.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Gain industry valuable practical experience in a broad range of technical areas, giving you the edge over your peers in scientific interviews
- Provide an efficient central resource for supply of laboratory reagents and other consumables
- Maintain laboratory records and equipment validation documents as required
- Communicate clearly and effectively within the weekend teams and with colleagues across the organisation
- Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise to ensure issues are resolved swiftly
- Work with wider teams to optimise internal processes
