Job Details
We have a number of vacancies for the right candidate to join our One Revenues Team based in Barrow. You will process documentation relating to Council tax payer’s accounts. The Revenues Officer will deal with customers over the phone and in writing to obtain evidence relating to the customer’s request.
As the Revenues Officer you will carry out and complete work accurately with the ability to complete documentation to deadlines whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. You will be self-motivated, positive with a “can do” attitude and able to use own initiative. You will have good interpersonal skills including the ability to act with tact, sensitivity and diplomacy. The ability to learn and be adaptable to changes in procedures, technology and legislation.
Successful applicants will receive training so that you can fully understand all aspects of the position but you will already hold Mathematics and English skills to GCSE level or key skills level 2 and above.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Process documents for council tax payers/accounts within the Liberata operational model
- Ensure accounts are amended at the earliest opportunity
- Process requests for single person discounts, direct debits, change of address, discounts and exemptions in a timely manner
- Process basic recovery administrative documents
- Ensure requests for supporting evidence are clear and concise
- Ensure information relating to customers for other service lines is provided at earliest opportunity
- Undertake tracing function for account payers/debtors
- Ensure the performance management tool is completed accurately and weekly performance table is provided to the line manager in a timely manner
- Play and active role in weekly and monthly employee review (121) meetings
- Ensure knowledge is refreshed in relation to Liberata and site policies
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum 5 grades A-C including English and Maths
- Experience/understanding in meeting targets and developing own performance
- Competency in use of various IT systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
