Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to head up the sales, marketing/PR function of Ragdale Hall Spa. Leading a small team, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement a sales, marketing, and communications strategy for one of the UK’s leading destination spas.
You will have proven professional experience as a senior Sales and Marketing/PR Manager and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll set the strategic direction to drive both short- and long-term booking activities to achieve maximum occupancy and deliver a calendar of activity to help drive sales during key selling periods.
What the role involves
  • Copywriting for web and on-site literature
  • Create and deliver annual PR and marketing calendar.
  • Oversee the planning of in-house and external events, supporting in the organisational detail and hosting event receptions.
  • Oversee reader offers, competitions and promotions.
  • Proof reading content for web, email, social and print and giving final sign off.
  • Manage and oversee press and influencer visits, building relationships with key media.
  • Writing and issuing press releases for new launches, Ragdale Hall news and seasonal key calendar dates along with identifying newsworthy stories to generate positive PR.
  • Plan and deliver photo and video shoots in line with brand, identifying where new photography is required to ensure Ragdale’s imagery is always kept up to date.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Ragdale’s key skincare companies to deliver promotional material and sales messages for key promotional weeks.
  • Lead the marketing team to deliver a full programme of PR & Marketing activity for key gift voucher sales campaign periods, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.
  • Working closely with external creative agencies for continued development of brand.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to help develop, oversee, and support in the delivery of the Hall's online strategy, and support with CMS (especially WordPress), email marketing, paid social media, SEO and PPC.
  • Drive both short-term and long-term booking activities to achieve maximum occupancy
  • Create forward pricing strategies to ensure maximum revenues across residential and day packages
  • Monitor current booking activity and forward booking levels and react to any positive or negative booking trends
  • Drive inclusive and exclusive revenue, monitoring single occupancy, spend per head and room occupancy against budget and previous years.
  • Drive sales teams by setting incentives and ensuring all upsell opportunities are maximised
  • Review of sales mix of residential and day guests, the choice and pricing of packages and recommend opportunities increase guest numbers and/or sell further packages.
  • Line management; conducting team 121s and appraisals, supporting with team’s personal development
  • Departmental administrative duties to include overseeing rotas, annual leave calendar, departmental meetings, health and safety, management performance reviews.
The ideal candidate:
  • Proven professional experience as a Sales and Marketing/PR Manager
  • Commercially motivated with the ability to monitor and use management information to drive future strategy
  • Excellent copywriting skills, including writing for press releases
  • Knowledge of PR tools; monitoring, analysing and communicating PR results and coverage on a monthly basis
  • Experience planning and delivering a busy calendar of events
  • Evaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
  • Experience in coordinating photo and video shoots
  • Highly organised and effective at prioritising
  • Excellent written & verbal communications with high level of attention to detail
  • Experience in working under pressure and to a high standard
  • Experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of web, email, app, social media to support the digital marketing manager’s online strategy
  • Ability to maintain a consistent brand voice and image
  • Skilled in project management, forward planning, project planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Experience working with third party agencies
  • Strong IT skills
Hours of Work
Working 39 hours per week over 5 days a week, this office-based role will be predominately Mon-Fri (9:00am-5:30pm), with the occasional need to work at the weekend to support events.
Salary
Competitive, dependant on experience.
