Duties and responsibilities
- To receive all inpatient bookings from Consultants and secretaries.
- To register patients onto SAP if required.
- To accurately enter and process bookings into SAP & Outlook calendar.
- Confirm admission details and post admission letters to patients.
- Liaise with Insurance Companies for pre-authorisation and pre-verify.
- Arrange anaesthetic cover for General anaesthetic surgeries.
- Liaise with other departments within the hospital regarding admissions.
- To follow Spire policy for point of service billing by carrying over credit card details where appropriate from Outpatient visit.
- To review Outpatient clinics on a daily basis checking for DNA patients and rebooking where appropriate.
- Liaise with Theatre team on a daily basis.
- To adhere to the Hospital Health & Safety policy and any other relevant policies
- To carry out any other duties that may reasonably fall within the general nature and level of responsibility.
- To ensure all charging is collated & entered onto SAP including the pre-admission clinics, consultant out-patient clinics, SAL clinics.
- Have a basic knowledge of impairment and procedure codes and seek advice on medical issues if necessary.
- To communicate with other providers in the contract with regards to status of patient.
- To liaise with patients and send out relevant information, dealing with patient non-clinical enquiries where possible
- To be responsible for booking initial consultations for preferred list of consultants with specific criteria according to availability and time
- To book pre-assessment clinics on SAP system as necessary
- Preparation of all out-patient clinics, ensuring all notes delivered to clinics
. Who we're looking for
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good organisational skills, the ability to manage time well and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail in presentation and recording of data.
- Willingness to increase knowledge and ability through appropriate training.
