Job Description

Thanet Healthcare and Valicity Care Services, strongly believe that, every individual should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. As Team Leader you will provide a lead role on each shift, allocation, and direction of staff, monitoring of records, administration of medication, being a point of contact for professionals and visitors, to report any safeguarding concerns or complaints to the Manager. Ensuring that incidents are properly recorded, escalated and action taken. To provide mentorship and formal supervision to junior staff and documenting evidence of the above.

· To lead the shift, to support, allocate and direct staff to ensure the Service Users are properly and effectively supported.

· To assist in formal supervision and appraisal of the Support Workers.

· To support the Manager in ensuring the home Is compliant with CQC regulations.

· To be familiar with the support plans of all the Service Users in the home.

· To be familiar with and participate in the key-working system.

· To ensure comprehensive care planning, clear documentation and record keeping is maintained regarding all Service Users’ progress.

· To ensure that any safeguarding concerns raised by staff are escalated to management and that any relevant documentation pertaining to this is completed.

· To ensure the correct recording of any incidents that occur while on shift and that if this is out of hours that the on call is informed in the appropriate way and in a timely fashion dependent on the nature of the incident

· To be responsible for their individual use of PPE provided by the service and to ensure the correct PPE is always available and worn and that proper donning and doffing instructions are followed.

· To report any shortages of PPE to the management team immediately.

· To report any poor practice in regard to PPE.

· To ensure daily activities of Service Users reflect what is in the support plan.

· To promote the mental and physical health of Service Users by encouraging them to take part in, and sharing activities with them such as reading, writing, games, walking other hobbies.

· To supervise Service Users at mealtimes and ensure they are involved in choosing their meals and enjoying a satisfactory nutritional intake.

As a Team Leader you will need:

NVQ LVL 3, or working towards in Health & Social Care

For CQC Services - solid understanding of CQC requirements and care standards for a residential care setting

Strong leadership skills, previous Senior Carer or Team Leader experience required

Continuous Improvement – able to embrace change and continually look for innovative ways to enrich the lives of the Service Users and team members to effect positive change. Committed to quality of care, always striving to improve lives.

Respectful Communication – communication with Service Users, colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team is respectful, open and honest. Demonstrates compassion and care, treating people with kindness and showing empathy to Service Users and colleagues.

Working Together - strong interpersonal communication skills, collaborating and supporting colleagues to create a synergy of positive outcomes – a true team player

Excellent problem-solving skills – able to adapt and address situations quickly and understand when to escalate situations to the Manager

Good written communication skills, able to complete documentation and record keeping thoroughly, accurately and professionally.ie audits, care plans and risk assessments.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract, Graduate
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £31,820.00-£34,731.00 per year
