This role is Monday – Friday but in this role you will be required to be on call on a rota basis, this is a Fulltime permananet Position
Position Summary
We are looking for an Electrical & Automations Engineer, based at our confectionery factory in York. Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity. Nestlé York Factory is the home of the iconic confectionery brand Kit Kat amongst several other well-known brands such as Aero, Milky bar and Yorkie. All of these are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.
A day in the life of an Electrical and Automation Engineer
We’re looking for someone to provide Electrical & Automation support to the factory engineering team. You will be responsible for supporting OMP activities to reduce unplanned stops, machinery safety, automation projects and process improvements.
Other key day-to-day activities will be:
- Participate in Capital Investments projects in the factory, ensuring that the technical solution follows the required standards and is delivered with the expected quality, on time and in budget
- Ensure process & equipment safety for people, products and environment and exhibit a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe situations. Participate in the implementation of engineering tools at site level (i.e. NSAT, NET, AMM, etc.), and in the M&I activities in the factory
- Ensure E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards. Ensures that the key MES-E&A documentation is up to date and in place
- The role will ask that you are able to provide a site wide support function to production and engineering, utilising analytical tools to improve plant reliability in helping achieve plant objectives and maximise efficiency and minimise total cost.
- Assist with in root-cause analysis, implementing robust countermeasures, and supporting first line operator development, TPM, centre lining and SMED activities.
- Coach and mentor the maintenance team members to develop their automation and electrical capabilities.
- E&A engineers play a key role in the continuous improvement of our factories through mastering the process and product characteristics. Implement performance improvement projects as identified by the teams.
- Implement SCADA/MES solution aligned with the corporate strategy and the local factory requirements
What will make you successful
To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a FMCG manufacturing maintenance environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail.
Other key attributes we are looking for are:
- Electrical and/or Automation engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience required in Electricity, Process Control, Loop Tuning, Instrumentation and PLC/HMI programming
- Experience in SCADA Systems, IO servers, HMI, Historians and SQL databases would be advantageous
- Ability to work with Windows Server 2016/2019 environment and Windows 10 clients
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required
