Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate horse racing enthusiast with experience working in the betting industry to join our Racing Operations Team.
The Racing Operations Department is an integral part of the Tote. The team are responsible for managing the pool on a day-to-day basis, identifying opportunities for the commercial teams, and ensuring high levels of accuracy for our customers, partners, and stakeholders. As Racing Operations Executive, you will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the operation through monitoring the betting systems and taking appropriate remedial action if problems occur.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building racecards for UK, Irish and International race meetings using web-based applications ensuring the highest standard of accuracy
- Monitoring live races to identify any incidents within the race, and taking immediate remedial action when problems occur
- Compiling pool information through web-based reporting tools and clearly communicate this data via email to third parties and internal departments
- Working with the racing operations manager to proactively identify opportunities to engage customers with live pool information and relaying this to commercial and marketing teams
- Keeping updated on news and the latest trends in the Horse Racing and the betting industry

We are a team of over 170 people with our HQ based in Wigan, Greater Manchester (WN3 5AZ). The role will be 37.5 hours per week and will be on a varied shift pattern including evenings and weekends. Due to the nature of the role requirements, this role will be office based full time. For anyone who joins the team a full induction and on the job training and development plan will be put in place.
What you’ll need:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders
- A high level of understanding and interest in betting and sports is essential
- A basic understanding of pool betting products is advantageous
- Proven experience of using Microsoft 365 and web based applications
- Ability to demonstrate high levels of attention to detail whilst working under pressure
