Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is the leading provider of
generalist advice services in Hammersmith and Fulham. We help approximately
12000 people each year with free, confidential, and impartial advice on a wide range
of issues.
Our Assessors are the first point of contact for any members of the community that
contact us by phone, in person via email. Assessors establish what the client’s issue
is, ensure that all relevant information is collected. provide information and advice
where possible and identify the best next step. Ensuring clients are directed to the
appropriate CAHF project, or external agency.
This role requires a passion for working with people, helping them through
challenging situations.
Applicants must demonstrate the following,
- organised focused approach, with ability to accurately record information.
- experience of delivering assessment on the main enquiry areas (Welfare Benefits, Debt, Housing and Employment)
- Have an ability to use sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control
- competent IT skills, especially the ability to use databases and navigate websites
CAHF Assessors are supported by our supervisory team and have access to our
wealth of resources. Assessors are supported to develop the skills needed to
succeed and thrive in the role.
