About the role
Could you use your Yoga practice to support people making positive changes to their substance use, helping them to maintain physical and mental well-being?
Enable is a Substance Misuse Service which is run in partnership with the NHS & Humankind. The team operates from 2 sites in Enfield to provide a wide range of substance misuse services to local residents, including substitute prescribing, community detox, criminal justice interventions, community care assessments, a group work programme, and primary health care.
We would love to involve a volunteer who is qualified in yoga to lead yoga sessions at our Edmonton site, once a week or every other week, helping some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Details of the role:
- Leading a yoga session for people accessing our service – referrals to the session will be discussed with the volunteer

Signposting to other activity / support the service and partners offer

Liaising with staff and service users to gain feedback about the service which helps inform decisions and support

Attending one-to-one supervisions to reflect on client sessions and experience of the role

Adhering to policies related to areas such as safeguarding, information governance and health and safety

Enable’s Claverings site is in Edmonton, the nearest train station is Edmonton Green. It is also on a bus route.
Timings:
The sessions could be on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday - we aim to work around volunteers’ availability - 1-1.5 hours each week or each fortnight. We ask that people anticipate being able to volunteer for 6 months or more.
Training:
Volunteers have access to Humankind’s training platform, Learningkind, and will be asked to complete a number of training modules within their first 3 months, many of these are e-learning modules. One session on Safeguarding is delivered by trainers via Zoom, and is 6 hours (with breaks) – there are a range of dates but please do keep this in mind.

- A recognised qualification in yoga
