BENEFITS REALISATION MANAGER

As Benefits Realisation Manager you will assist the Head of Portfolio Office to ensure that a consistent fit for purpose approach to benefits and value management is applied across the portfolio of programmes and projects and that benefits realisation is optimised. You will also manage the change control process, for project changes that impact on benefits.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in the development of Portfolio Office best practice tools and in the delivery of P3M3 maturity at project and programme level
- Regularly update Benefits Realisation plans for existing programme and produce and maintain Benefits Realisation Plans for other projects and programmes.
- Develop and update strategic maps, benefits maps, benefits dependency maps for projects and programmes.
- Organise workshops and support benefits and dis-benefits identification activities and record any associated risks
- Help define the benefits profiles, benefits delivery plans and delivery register.
- Validate benefits with owners (gain business sign off, issue contracts & handover documents).
- Manage the benefits tracking and reporting.
- Support the change management process
- Monitor, manage and close benefits throughout the duration of the contract.
- Assist the Head of Portfolio Office in managing the relationship with HE’s Benefits Leads
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the P3Os benefits management framework and ensure alignment of MoV activities.
- Work with GT Performance team for inclusion of benefits KPIs in performance reporting
- Work with GT risk manager and risk owners for the management of risks to benefits
- Work with the wider team for management of benefits delivery
- Deliver training and awareness on the application of the benefits management framework
- Secure handover of benefits registers and profiles at the end of the project or programme.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering / Business Management degree or experience in a similar role in the Public Sector
- Willing to learn or already familiar with IPA’s (Infrastructure and Projects Authority) Guide for Effective Benefits Management for Major Projects
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- PRINCE II certification
- MOV (Management of Value) qualification
- Good knowledge of PLC (project life cycle)
- Familiar with the Business Case Guidance for Programmes – the 5-case business case model and with HM Treasury’s Green Book
- Familiar with the transport industry
