Job Description
RISE, the mental health and wellbeing service for children and young people across Coventry and Warwickshire, is setting up a new team within its eating disorder service. The Home Treatment Team, a brand new offer, will deliver care in our young people’s homes, where they often feel most comfortable and where we can get maximum input from their family. We are seeking applicants to several new roles, including Home Visit Support Workers and an Admin Co-ordinator, to help us build this new offer.
We know that some young people find an inpatient environment intimidating and that admission, and later discharge, from these facilities can complicate the transition back into their day-to-day home life. By meeting with and helping young people at home where possible, we will prevent unnecessary admissions and see better outcomes for the families we work with.
The new Home Treatment Team will primarily support young people around mealtimes and will be guided by their family, tailoring help to fit around their life and needs. Supporting loved ones to understand the eating disorder and techniques they can use to manage difficulties around meals will be central to the team’s work. Building trust and relationships with young people and their families will therefore be critical.
