Job Description

As part of our dedication to expanding and upskilling the workforce in our CAMHS Family Therapy teams, we are delighted to be able to offer a Trainee Systemic Family Therapist post.

This is a training post for Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Registered Mental Health Nurses with post registration experience to work within our established CAMHS Teams, providing services for Children and Young People with Emotional and Mental Health problems.

All applicants must be:
available to interview on 31st March 2023 with a joint Exeter University and CAMHS interview panel,

able to start the training in September 2023 at to Exeter University

possess a qualification in systemic family practice permitting access to an MSc Family Therapy Course .

A separate application to Exeter University is also required by midnight on 6th March (earlier than the course closing date) for joint shortlisting purposes.

Systemic Therapy MSc | Postgraduate taught | University of Exeter

This post is subject to your successful application to a course commencing in September 2023. The course will be fully funded and you will be provided adequate study time for your course commitments. You will receive supervision from a Systemic Family Therapist who is experienced in working within CAMHS, alongside the support you receive on the masters course.

Following successful completion of the university course, you will be eligible to apply for a Band 7 Family Therapist post.

The post holder will be a member of the West Team for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will have responsibility for the assessment, treatment and evaluation of treatment provided to clients referred to the team in addition to being aligned to our Family Therapy clinics.

You'll join the team in supporting children/young people presenting with a broad range of complex difficulties including anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma and those presenting with associated risk.

The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within client’s homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.
