We are looking for multiple roles to join an established multi-disciplinary R&D team based in the Southwest of England to work on technology developments, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in flight.
We are looking for a proactive and talented individual who can take ownership of the testing process for multiple different components/technologies/ associated with the development of hydrogen based systems that will become the backbone of 21st century air travel. Working within a dynamic and creative international work environment, you will have total involvement in the testing process working closely with other members of the teams to develop and execute test complex multi parameter test routines on a wide range of technologies.
Position responsibilities
- Lead our component/technology testing efforts on multiple technologies. This will involve hands on testing of a wide range of different components.
- Execution of complex multi parameter tests on a wide range of components in line with applicable requirements and standards.
- Liaise with external laboratories at Universities and similar institutions with unique test facilities to carry out parts of our testing program.
- Prepare a range of test documentation and procedures to ensure accurate testing of different technologies.
- Accurately document test results within applicable test reports or other media.
- Assemble test rigs in a safe and practical way ensuring our high site safety standards are met at all times.
- Work with your fellow R&D team members to match complex technology test requirements with test facility capabilities
- Take an active role in the development and design of our R&D test facilities
- Take an active role to input practical requirements into test rig design
- Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis to maximise uptime of key test facilities
- Gathering and analysis of engineering test data using data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
- Using technical expertise to advise project teams and leadership during technology reviews and investigations.
- Identifying opportunities and planning for facility upgrade projects (Capital).
- Adherence to the safe systems of work and relevant departmental and company work instructions is paramount in this position.
- Ensuring test facilities meet HS&E requirements.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively
- Ability to work within a cross functional team as well as individually
- Strong analytical mind and attention to detail coupled with an ability to apply engineering principles.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification within a mechanical or electronics engineering discipline OR equivalent experience in a relevant engineering domain
- Competent in the standard Microsoft office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Due to Export Controls restrictions EU nationality or permanent UK residency is required
Advantageous Experience
- Demonstrated experience with heat exchangers, cooling systems, gas handling or similar equipment
- Knowledge of Honeywell LSS, ECS and/or Hydraulic products.
- Experience of pneumatic schematical design
- A working knowledge of CAD software (NX, Solid works, AutoCAD or similar)
- Knowledge of test facilities at Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil.
