Job Description – Factory Operative
Role
To work within a busy glass processing factory making toughened glass and double glazed units for the commercial glazing market.
Requirements
Full training will be given to successful candidates however they must be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
Candidates will need to be numerate and literate.
Full training will be given to operatives enabling them to use a wide variety of glass processing equipment safely and efficiently. Candidates who already have experience and skills within this industry are very welcome to apply.
A key requirement for our operatives is a positive attitude towards work and building and maintaining their relationships with colleagues.
Key responsibilities
To carry out designated tasks safely and to time.
To record the work completed as required.
To carry out any necessary inspection or quality checks on products at the work station
To carry out basic inspection and daily maintenance of the equipment they are using before, during and at the end of their shift.
To report any potentially dangerous situations or incidents to ensure the company can maintain a safe working environment for all our employees.
To wear all the PPE issued to them at all times and keep it in good order.
To maintain cleanliness of their working area and the factory in general.
Hours of work
The basic hours will be 40 hours per week. Operatives will be required to work reasonable overtime at the company’s request. The factory operates a shift system so the hours of work may vary
