Are you an experienced clinician looking to develop your academic career? If so, the Advanced Practice in Psychological Wellbeing (APPW) programme could be the ideal opportunity for you. This is because the programme currently has an opening for the right person to help to drive forward the programme’s research agenda whilst also contributing to wider programme activities. These include teaching and pastoral support of trainees.
The successful candidate will be an innovator and possess a real passion for research and teaching. They will have a strong record of successful research at post-doctoral level and relevant experience in the mental health field. They will be committed to raising the research profile of the APPW programme and to contributing to a positive learning experience for all trainees. As such the successful candidate will demonstrate themselves to be an empathic, motivated, creative and energetic individual who can act on their own initiative. The programme particularly welcomes applications from individuals who identify as being from marginalised groups as part of our commitment to representing the communities that we serve.
You would be joining a programme team of dedicated and supportive individuals who are committed to providing a vibrant, compassionate and enjoyable learning experience. More broadly, the programme is situated in the School of Psychology and within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS). The faculty is a leading provider of undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare education, research and consultancy. It has extensive links with local health care providers and is based in a modern, purpose built, state-of-the-art teaching facility on the University of Surrey campus in Guildford. The campus provides a pleasant working environment with close links to road and rail transport. Please note that some teaching takes place at a Kent venue and travel across Kent, Sussex and Surrey region will be required.
