Job Description
We are looking for a cat lover to undertake a permanent role in the cattery and is flexible with shifts/days available. They should be someone who doesn’t mind dealing with all aspects of cat care, doing physically demanding jobs and ideally has their own transport.
We would like to hire someone who is flexible with the amount of work on offer. During our off-peak times this will be just one morning a week, but during our peak times (February Half term, March to November and Christmas/New Year) we can offer up to 4 full day's, this includes work on bank holidays and weekends. The working day is based on a split shift (hence ideally own transport), the duration of each shift depends on how busy the cattery is. The hours are 8am until 12:30pm/1:15pm and then back again 4/4:30pm – 6:30pm. It may be that we get 2 applicants to job-share if you aren't able to do up to 4 days during our peak times.
The daily role will include feeding, cleaning and grooming the cats who are in our care, then disinfecting the runs once vacated. A lot of these tasks are physically demanding, especially when cleaning and disinfecting runs, as well as carrying large litter bags. We work all year round, so the working conditions will vary with the weather (we can’t curl up under the heat-lamps like the cats do).
Holiday pay is accrued at a rate of 12.07%.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited in for an interview which will also include a 2 hour practical trial. Start date isn't fixed, but ideally you'd be able to start by mid/early April.
