Working in the Residue Analysis department at Eye, Suffolk the responsibilities of a Laboratory Support Technician include:
Clean and dry laboratory glassware.
Order internal & external supplies and lab consumables.
Proactively manage consumable stock levels.
Monitor the temperatures of storage areas.
Dispose of laboratory waste according to proper procedures.
General housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory area.
Assist with and supervise sample receipt, storage and disposal.
Prepare and process samples for designated studies, supervising where appropriate.
Analyse samples for assigned studies.
Setup analytical runs on appropriate instrumentation.
Increase theoretical knowledge of analytical techniques by using CHROMacademy.
Assist in the checking of analytical data.
Clean and maintain allocated work areas and equipment in line with departmental procedures
Accept responsibility for the condition and maintenance of allocated equipment.
