Job Summary
We require a general farm worker on a mixed arable and poultry family run farm on the Fylde Coast, Lancashire.
Jobs would include day to day observation and walking of the poultry sheds, maintaining good biosecurity and cleanliness of the site, mucking out and muck carting at the end of each crop, routine maintenance, and setting sheds up for chick arrival.
We have 350 acres of arable crops. Subject to experience, arable work will include grain carting, bale carting, muck spreading, drilling, cultivation work and machinery maintenance.
In addition, you will be required to support the other farm enterprises of self-catering holiday accommodation, caravan site and commercial storage on site. This will include building maintenance and grounds maintenance.
Job Skills
We would like someone reliable with a can-do attitude, who has an interest in livestock and animal welfare.
Be flexible with their hours and be prepared to work some evenings, weekends and long hours during harvest, peak arable times, bird depopulation, mucking out and chick arrival.
Be physically fit and healthy, as a significant part of this role is of a physical nature.
Full training will be given, although previous experience would be advantageous.
You should be competent using machinery and ideally have or be working towards a UK driving licence. A driving licence will be essential at peak field work times.
