Client Accounts Assistant, Media & Entertainment, Up to £28,000
One of the world's leading literary and talent agencies is looking for a client accounts assistant to join their finance team. Clients include authors, playwrights, film and television writers and directors, theatre stars in the UK and around the world.
Client Accounts are part of the Business Support Department. The team are responsible for invoicing for money on behalf of their clients, collecting money due, deducting the company’s commission and passing on the remainder of the payment onto the client.
Main purpose of job
To provide accounting assistance to the Talent agents and assistants by helping with the timely processing of payments to actor / director / presenter clients.
The job will focus on the following aspects of client accounting: Talent Department.
Responsibilities
- Processing payments through our bespoke payments system for both the Talent department
- Raising VAT invoices on behalf of clients.
- Collecting post, taking post to reception, taking cheques to the bank.
- Credit control on behalf of clients.
- Investigating allocated amounts received and payments on hold.
- Liaising with agents and other Curtis Brown staff, as required e.g. payment queries, client information etc.
- Dealing with client’s queries, for example tax, VAT, paperwork, outstanding payments etc. via phone or email, in a timely and professional manner.
- Updating financial records e.g. Excel Cashbook (spreadsheet showing money in and out of the accounts).
- Using online banking to download bank statements, transfer money between accounts and make CHAPS, BACS or International payments.
- Financial analysis as and when required.
- Other administrative duties as and when required.
- Contributing new ideas to increase the department’s efficiency.
Experience and Skills required
- A minimum of 2-3 year’s office experience
- Skilled at working with numbers
- Happy with data entry
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organised
- Fast learner and happy to ask questions
- Strong communication skills – good email and phone manner essential
- Good team player but also happy to work unsupervised
- Experience of working with Excel
- Experience working in accounts department
- Experience working in a related industry would be ideal
- Interest in film / theatre / TV
