Starting salary £37,431pa with potential progression to £40,432pa on achieving designated skills and experience
37 hours per week (hybrid working)
Following the appointment of a new director and management team, and a complete restructure of the service, we are looking for a new team to transform the way we deliver property maintenance in Welwyn Hatfield. We don’t just talk big. Our ambitions are backed by a commitment to invest £150 million in our housing stock over the next five years to improve people’s homes and their energy efficiency.
As part of the service review, a range of exciting new compliance roles have arisen within the Property Maintenance and Climate Change team to be responsible for delivering compliance and building safety services to meet statutory and policy requirements for the Councils c9.500 housing stock and commercial portfolio. You will lead in one of the following areas: Electrical Safety; Gas and Water; Fire Safety or Asbestos.
You will lead on the technical and customer service aspects of the service, developing and maintaining a strong partnering relationship whilst supporting and driving organisational and cultural change to deliver the Council’s mission and values.
We are a customer focused organisation, and you must also maintain a commitment to their needs at all times. You must have a keen eye for detail checking the integrity of data, contract reconciliations and sample checks to ensure the council is always compliant.
Combining all this will excellent budget and contractor management skills you will be passionate about building safety and making a real difference.
You will have a good level of experience in building safety compliance, including the management of staff. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a strategic approach to work and the skills to introduce new ideas and working practices.
