Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced researcher to join the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine Research Department. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team on a project aimed at evaluating the feasibility of delivering self-acupuncture to chemotherapy cancer patients undergoing treatment in a routine clinical care NHS setting.

The study will involve teaching chemotherapy cancer patients to insert a limited number of acupuncture needles into points on their own body to enable them to self-manage the symptoms of their cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. The study will employ a pragmatic mixed methods randomised parallel-group exploratory design, comparing self-acupuncture plus standard care versus standard care alone.
