We are investing in our digital services and solutions so we can transform how we work and how we deliver our services.
We are looking for someone who can help us develop and implement new digital services so that we become as efficient as possible, and our customers can interact with us in ways that they want to and at a time that suits them.
As a Junior Digital Developer, you will be working in our Business Transformation team, which has been set up specifically to deliver improvements to our services - bringing our customers, members and staff along too.
Our Business Transformation team is busy - there will be several projects running in parallel and so being comfortable with working at pace and organising your time is really important. We work across the organisation, and deal with a range of stakeholders so it's really important that you communicate well and have a friendly, approachable and can-do attitude - these are some of the biggest attributes you can bring to the role.
Our Business Transformation team is made up of digital developers, project managers, business analysts, and a web designer - and sits within the wider corporate team with close links to communications and design. It's a really creative team, passionate about delivering improvements to provide the best possible result for our customers.
Ideally, you will come with some experience in writing and documenting a range of coding languages to include JavaScript, CSS and HTML - however it isn't essential as you will be mainly using our ‘low-code’ platform.
We will support you to become confident in understanding user requirements, integrating with complex council systems and building customer focused, fit for purpose systems used by our staff and residents. You will also learn to apply a variety of user testing methodologies and interpret user feedback to improve customer journeys on a range of devices.
We work in an agile way, and we all participate in regular team catch ups to ensure that projects are on track, and where necessary you may be asked to help out other team members.
