THE ROLE
Working with the Design team and reporting to the Designer, your role as Design Assistant will be to support the wider Team and be involved in the design process all the way through concept to pre-production of the collections for your product area each season.
We’re looking for someone with the ability to develop a strong relationship with the designers, built on great communication, and who will develop an ability to know how they work and anticipate what they need.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the critical path successfully and efficiently
- Support the designers with daily tasks – for example preparing for meetings, communicating with factories and other departments, logging in samples
- Maintain communication between the Designers, Production, Buying and Suppliers
- Documentation of all information relating to the designs
MORE DETAIL
- General administration– filing, scanning, research, photocopying etc
- Create and maintain all mood boards
- Create a seasonal list of style names
- Set up style and BOMS on PLM
- Maintain and update styles on PLM
- Chase in and log all protos
- Chase in and log all lab dips and review with relevant Designer, send comments
- Set up and manage the colour standard board
- Communicate with suppliers
- Day-to-day point of contact for work experience team members
- Take notes in meetings and general Admin, photocopy & filing
- Manage and organise storage of samples
- General support for the team
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
- Degree in Design (for relevant product area)
- Computer skills (knowledge of design packages)
- Relationship building skills
- Strong market and trend awareness
