We are currently recruiting for Street Cleansing Operatives to work in the District across the Braintree, Witham and Halstead areas.
Street Cleansing tasks will include: street sweeping (mechanical/manual), litter picking, bin emptying (including dog bins), collecting fly tips, market clearance and removal of dead animals.
Our team work 7 days a week and you will be required to work 5 days a week on a rota basis, which will include weekend working. Current working hours for this role will be 6am to 2pm and 8am to 4pm (on a shift basis) Monday to Friday and weekend shifts will be between the hours of 6am to 6pm.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an outdoor environment and have experience of undertaking a range of manual tasks.
Requirements of the role include:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weathers together with the ability to walk, bend, kneel and stand for long periods of time and perform heavy lifting if needed.
- Ability to work weekends on a rota basis.
- A full clean driving licence together with a 7.5 tonne licence
- Ability to work in a team or individual based environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation of the street cleansing service.
- Polite and helpful with the public at all times.
- Have an understanding of Health & Safety systems including manual handling and risk assessments.
