Purpose of the role includes supporting software development for microcontrollers in C language and some PCB design and prototyping.
Ability to hand build PCB prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
-
Firmware development for microcontrollers - your contribution will primarily be supporting the electronics team in developing device firmware for microcontrollers (in C), including communication protocols (UART, I2C, ISP, etc. ), wireless protocols (BLE, Cellular and IoT), interfacing sensors (NTCs, analogue sensors, etc.) controlling actuators (fridge compressors, pumps, solenoids, buzzers, LEDs, etc.) and HMI interfaces (touch buttons, TFT displays, etc.).
- Assist in selecting and sourcing electronic components - This would involve conducting necessary research on electronic components, conducting usability and reliability tests, making sure they are adequate for our projects.
- PCB design - We may require rapid development of digital and analogue electronic circuits for two layer PCBs, using Autodesk Eagle (Fusion 360 package)
- Hardware and software debugging - You will investigate the occurrence of failures and bugs in the operation of our devices and participate in root cause analysis
- Hand build PCB prototyping and testing jigs - You will hand assemble prototype PCBs and test jigs.
Requirements
- Degree, or equivalent in Electronic Engineering,
- At least 2 Years experience working in a Software and/or Electronics Engineer role
- Must be on-site in person at Synergy House.
- Good IT knowledge for practical use (MS Word, Excel)
- Passion about technology, software and hardware
- Experience with developing firmware for microcontroller devices is mandatory like Atmel, Microchip, Silicon Labs, Nordic Semiconductor, Espressif or any ARM-based platforms.
- A comprehensive understanding of microcontroller peripherals is a must including communication standards like SPI, UART, I2C, etc.
- A Senior Electronics Engineer would lead your projects and work in close conjunction. You will also regularly interface with the Senior R&D Team and R&D Manager.
