Our Occupational Therapists are experts in understanding the link between occupation and health. We support individuals to function as independently as possible by helping them to acquire skills that are necessary for day-to-day living.

Our Charity

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

Our patients and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day.

Our Site and Services

The Northampton site hosts services that include: Learning Disability; Autism; Medium Secure Forensics including our Deaf Service; Acquired Brain Injury; Dementia and Huntington’s Disease; Low Secure and Specialist Rehabilitation (including PICU); CAMHS and Community Partnerships, as well as our Academic and Research and Innovation Centres, offering great opportunities to broaden and develop your skills in the future.

Sessions include personal care, community skills, cooking skills, social skills, and a variety of topic based groups and vocational opportunities. This will be an opportunity for you to see our patients through the eyes of an occupational therapist and you will receive teaching and guidance about how to use occupation as a therapeutic medium.

Clinical and management supervision will be provided on a monthly basis, added to a scaffolding of daily support from the OT team.
