We’re looking for a trading insight analyst to join our food retail insights team at Co-op, and help us to use research, data, and insight to improve the way we do business for our customers, members, and colleagues. At Co-op, we’re always thinking of new ways to advance and grow our customer offering; but we don’t leave any of this down to guess work; it’s all about the insight.
As a trading insight analyst, you’ll be supporting our constantly evolving retail business. It’ll be up to you to provide customer understanding to help us make better, customer-led decisions. You’ll strive to inspire change by using your creative thinking, market research and analytical skills to translate data into compelling stories, which you’ll use to paint clear pictures that our partners can use to make informed decisions that’ll positively impact our business.
What you’ll do
- support the development and evolution of the annual trade planning calendar, covering trading and promotional events throughout the year
- evaluate the success of the trade events and promotions through market research and data analysis, spending time with our buying and commercial teams to identify new opportunities
- own the end-to-end management of market research projects, writing briefs, working with the research team to design methodology and communicating data back to colleagues in an engaging and captivating way
- analyse and integrate continuous data sources from internal teams and external partners such as IRi, Kantar, and Lumina
- present data to a wide variety of key partners, tailoring content and messages to relevant audiences
- support on reporting activity, providing insights to colleagues on a regular basis
This role would suit people who have
- experience in a market research or insight role, analysing and interpreting customer and shopper data from various platforms
- strong presentation skills, and a creative approach to manipulating and visualising data; you can convert data into easily digestible insights for partners at different levels
- advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (you’ll need to use V-LOOKUPs, pivot tables and data manipulation) and PowerPoint
- the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and influence decision making
- good time management skills, with the ability to handle conflicting priorities effectively
Why Co-op?
Here you will do work that matters. We are a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, and you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes
- competitive salary
- coaching, training, and support to help you develop
- pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- annual incentive scheme
- Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
- 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
- YuLife - an app that rewards you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for many of the UK’s biggest brands
- discounts on Co-op products and services
