Job Description Job Title: Assistant Wine Buyer Reports to: Wine Buyer Depot: Support Centre Overview The Assistant Wine Buyer will assist the Wine Buyer and Wine Director in aspects of the management of the wine business at LWC. The AWB will take part in various aspects of the business in order to support the Wine Team in achieving budget. Main Duties Support WDMs and Account managers with information related to the range, including stock issues. Set up of new suppliers and wines – assist the bond team with initial orders. Analysis and distribution of monthly wine data. QA/QC issue management – a bottle needs to be requested from each shipment and tasted with the Wine Buyer to check that quality levels are as expected. Co-ordinate POS requests with the suppliers. Assist Wine Buyer with the review of the wine portfolio. Management of the internal ‘wine bible’. Assist with the identification of, and movement out of the business of, slow moving stock. Submission of brochure promotions and accompanying articles. Update of supplier price files and communication to the commercial team. Upkeep and management of supplier information (tech sheets etc) and distribution to relevant sales teams. Liaising with PIM team to manage product information and ensure it is up to date. Knowledge and Experience: WSET Level 3, with a view to study for a Diploma. Strong commercial skills and understanding of the UK On trade. Ability to teach WSET 1 and 2 preferred. Good communication and relationship building skills. Proficient at using Microsoft Excel for data management or record keeping. LWC Drinks Ltd provides licensed establishments with all their bar and sundry supplies.
