Job Description
Our client is looking for a Development Lead on a contract basis, located in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
ROLE
· Protect the Asset’s interests in its various Joint Ventures and OBO partnerships (where relevant).
· Bring new production to the Asset to extend its life and improve profitability, looking at the potential for Development, Exploration and DRO opportunities.
· Ensure optimisation of the asset through ARO and cost reduction
· Ensure the progress of development opportunities from the earliest stages all the way through to project sanction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Undertake the duties of the Asset Petroleum Architect (Development Engineer) that are linked to planning and development activities. As part of the duties, the Petroleum Architect will undertake Asset studies such as modifications projects’, prospects, preliminary, conceptual and/or pre-project studies (with derogation) and/or would be responsible for the follow up of studies carried out at head office conceptual or pre-project studies (without derogation).
· The Development Lead will be responsible for the SOR application through the Basic Engineering
· In carrying out these studies, the Development Lead will do the following:
o Identify, propose and consolidate technical projects which could enhance the subsidiary resources, particularly with regard to modifications to existing assets to maximize the value of fields.
o Launch the technical studies and economical evaluations required to prepare these developments (integration or new).
o Collect, analyse and consolidate data for the study design basis.
· In addition, for affiliate studies, the Development Lead will do the following:
o Carry out development studies (integration or brownfield or greenfield developments) for the subsidiary using the development study management methodology as well as driving and coordinating the various engineering disciplines during implementation of the study.
o Ensure that deadlines and budgets are met and that the quality assurance process set up by Exploration & Production is maintained.
o Guarantee that the development schemes studied comply with the standards of the Group in terms of design and HSE.
o Identify and promote the development of innovation methods not yet on the market
o Prepare the final report, as well as the Statement of Requirements (for pre-projects) and receive its approval from the various parties in collaboration with DSO.
o Organise in collaboration with DSO and Strategy & Business, prepare and take part in ComAD and, as necessary, in CoVal, CoRisk.
o Prepare the sanction dossier for new projects (operated and non-operated), as well as the Field Development Plans.
· For studies carried out in the Head Office, the Development Lead will:
o Contribute to master data gathering and the development of specifications, that he will approve (study content, deliverables, planning and budget) set up by DSO.
o Monitor the development studies carried out by DSO.
o Prepare the sanction dossier for new projects (operated and non-operated), as well as the Field Development Plans.
· As part of the role of planning and development, the development lead will do the following:
o Take part in meetings within the entity to promote actions to increase the current production of the subsidiary.
o Play an integral part of the team in preparing projects for Valcom, comDev, COVAL, Corisk, and COMEX
o Provide technical data support for the long-term plan, and PRIME exercise for the asset.
o Support the annual re-evaluations of insurance costs and restitution costs of the asset.
o Prepare and take part in meetings with Partners and/or the authorities and present the development activities.
o Ensure feedback so that the head office benefits from the experience gained in the subsidiary, either through our operated activity or through our associations.
· As part of the assignment, the job holder will need to:
o Demonstrate personal commitment to the Group's HSE policy.
o Update HSE knowledge and training and ensure compliance with EP regulations.
o Play an active role in HSE awareness activities set up by the company.
The work environment is mainly office-based with many meetings and committees as well as possible trips to Paris and Pau for following up specific studies and on-site visits.
REQUIREMENTS
§ MSc/BSc (Hons) Degree.
§ Experience in a technical/commercial/economics environment, within the oil and gas industry.
§ Good knowledge of the evaluation process of oil and gas reserves as well as downstream challenges of such evaluations (contractual, economic and strategic)
§ Good working knowledge of infrastructure/developments in the UKCS and wider upstream business.
§ Ability to represent the Asset both internally and externally at a senior level.
§ Specialist knowledge of asset development, operating practices, and asset management techniques.
§ Good working knowledge of UK and international legislation and regulations and other requirements relating to offshore operations, including de-commissioning.
§ Clear understanding of the interactions and constraints (political, economic, technical and commercial) involved in preparing a development plan.
§ Clear understanding of applicable corporate procedures and processes.
§ Good communication and presentation skills
§ Organised and dynamic with an open mind and diplomacy skills
