We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Wellbeing Mentor to join our team at the City of Portsmouth College (CoPC). The role is based in our Highbury Campus located in Portsmouth.
The key purpose of this role is to deliver an outstanding health and wellbeing service for all students. The successful applicant will be expected to provide proactive support to all students, work collaboratively with teachers, support staff teams, parent/carers and external support agencies to enable students to manage their health and wellbeing and any barriers that may affect their studies or attendance, as well as assist with the development of the health and wellbeing peer support programme of the College.
Main responsibilities of the Health and Wellbeing Mentor are:
- Deliver an outstanding health and wellbeing service for all students.
- Provide proactive support to all students, working collaboratively with teachers, support staff teams, parent/carers and external support agencies to enable students to manage their health and wellbeing and any barriers that may affect their studies or attendance.
- Identify students through the College’s admissions and interview process who will require wellbeing support in college.
- To work with students both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, including an allocated transition cohort.
- Provide advice and support, signposting students to both internal and external support services and following up on progress/engagement
- Promote and contribute to the College’s ‘Health and Wellbeing’ strategy to raise awareness, engaging with students to enhance student health, emotional health and wellbeing.
- Develop and deliver appropriate health and wellbeing resources and activities to support student health and wellbeing across the college, working with the E6 team and linking to the Personal Development Programme.
- Assist with the development of the health and wellbeing peer support programme, working with, and supporting student representatives.
