We are looking for a Full-Time (35 hours a week) Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (PBS) to join our Positive Behaviour Support Team which provides support and advice to NAS adult services in Belfast.
The successful candidate will support us in providing a consistent person centred approach in the delivery of high quality services to a wide range of autistic individuals based on the Positive Behaviour Support competency framework.

We need you to be resilient, caring and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people with a passion for specialist autism provision and improving the life chances of autistic people and their families.
The PBS team is a national integrated network of area behaviour specialists, dedicated to the design and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for autistic individuals who present distressed responses. You will work under the direction and supervision of the PBS Lead for the area, you will receive clinical supervision, which can be used as a formal process of professional support, reflection and learning that contributes to individual development.
Within this role you will be accountable for a clinical caseload, working in partnership with operational staff, to develop innovative and person-centred approaches that will enable autistic people to have fulfilled and active lives, thereby reducing the probability of distressed responses.
The post holder will have experience of conducting holistic assessments (incorporating functional assessment) of the nature and context in which distressed responses occur. This will include writing reports and support plans for a range of audiences. You must have a confident and consistent approach to directly supporting autistic people both proactively and reactively.
You will be required to provide practical support, illustration, mentoring and feedback to support teams to ensure safe and high-quality support is delivered, providing clear and consistent professional advice founded on evidence-based assessment and analysis, giving clear direction and guidance, often in times of distress.
