Position
This post involves waking nights.
I am a 57-year-old female with a spinal cord injury following an accident in 2014. I live with my husband of 40 years (yep, get less for murder) in the lively village of Croston.
I am bright, witty, well-travelled with a wide range of interests including books, films, gardening, cooking and we both share a weakness for anything with a cold nose and a glossy coat.
My existing team are an integral part of our lives and we all enjoy and contribute to a warm and supportive atmosphere in our home. They are a vital component in restoring as much independence as possible by assisting me with all elements of day to day living. They are knowledgeable, loyal, long serving and whilst working on a one-to-one basis with me, they work well together as a team and without them my quality of life would be greatly diminished. Obviously, the team are treated with the respect they rightly deserve.
Spinal-cord injury represents a number of complexities all of which will be covered, in your induction training, should you be the successful candidate. Experience in complex care may present certain advantages but it is not essential. However, to fit in with my team you will need to demonstrate honesty and integrity, initiative and flexibility. A warm heart and a great sense of humour is also an essential ingredient (Picky mare aren’t I!)
Benefits include;
- Good Rate of Pay
- Paid annual leave
- Pension scheme entitlement
- Full training provided
- Confidential employee helpline
- Opportunity to gain qualification in Health and Social Care
- Blue Light membership for exclusive discounts with 15,000 brand partners
