The Head of Safeguarding (Adults and Children) will be directly line managed by the Associate Director for Safeguarding and will be required to maintain daily oversight of the safeguarding service management and immediately escalate any risks to the Associate Director for Safeguarding. This role will support the Associate Director for Safeguarding by promoting good professional safeguarding, providing operational leadership for safeguarding adults and children activity within BCHFT services and contribute to the delivery of the Trust Safeguarding Strategy. The role of Head of Safeguarding (Adults and Children) will act as a visible role model creating a supportive ethos to empower staff to contribute to the delivery of high quality safeguarding practice across the Trust. In addition, the will operationalise the Trust Safeguarding Strategy and put into action and will have responsibility for the development and delivery of sound safeguarding practice, process and systems for children, young people and adults. As Head of Safeguarding the role will line manage the 4 Lead Named Nurses with responsibility for ensuring the Safeguarding Team deliver all the key objectives and requirements for the safeguarding of all patients, across BCHFT whilst demonstrating effective inter-agency partnership working.
