Line Technician (Shifts)
Knottingley Business Unit
Role description:
To manage cold end equipment and provide quality assistance in order to optimise factory performance.
Responsibilities:
Monitor, maintain and improve cold end line bottle handling from lehr discharge to palletiser discharge.
Monitor commercial ware losses and identify whether caused by equipment set up or bottle features requiring hot end attention and making settings adjustments or passing on information as appropriate.
Maintain a log of changes made to inspection equipment and providing reasons for those changes.
Review the log of changes made to inspection equipment to identify and address any repeating problems or issues.
Provide assistance on job changes where required.
Monitor and respond to problems on lehr controls and cold end sprays.
Provide additional assistance where required to the cold end operations to uphold high levels of production quality and efficiency.
Ensure that cold end equipment continues to operate.
Required skills / qualifications:
Engineering related skills for inspection and packaging equipment set up.
Engineering craft apprentice trained qualified.
Understanding of glass defects made in the bottle manufacturing process and the impact of these on quality.
Teamwork and co-operation.
Analytical thinking.
