The Apprenticeship
All apprentice programmes start September 2023.
The jobholder will be expected to complete a degree apprenticeship whilst working for Building Systems UK. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the jobholder will be predominantly based within the Manufacturing area.
The Data Analyst apprenticeship role will provide business insights using a selection of analytical tools and techniques. The successful candidate will be expected to use methods such as ETL (Extract Transform Load) and be able to create visual dashboards with actionable outputs.
As an apprentice Data Analyst you will be responsible for, but no limited to:
- Complying with Health and Safety standards as required
- Become familiar the business’ data streams
- Learn how to query large datasets from our data warehouse
- Use programming languages to perform analysis
- Statistical analysis of data
- Organise and transform data into comprehensible structures
- Perform data cleansing, normalisation and transformation
- Analyse data to identify and highlight business risks, trends and correlations
- Prepare and present reports using a variety of software’s such as Excel, Power BI and Tibco Spotfire
- Monitor and improve data quality using teaching and validation techniques
- Identify and recommend business improvement projects to stakeholders at all levels
Apprentices will receive a structured training plan across all functions within the business.
The Candidate
To be considered for our Data Analyst position, you will need display a passion for data and excellent IT skills.
You must already have studied or be currently studying at level 3 or A levels within a computer science or mathematical subject (or demonstratable relative experience)
Candidates for these roles will be able to demonstrate good team working skills and abilities. They should have problem solving skills and decision-making capability. The jobholder should be a self-starter and demonstrate a proactive attitude to work and a willingness to learn. The jobholder should also possess a drive to achieve the objectives / targets of the department. The individual will also possess strong communication skills.
