Location: RAF Marham , Norfolk – on site
Salary: £34,831 - £39,605 – depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Support and sustainment of all Information Systems and Information Technologies, and related activities to manage, trouble-shoot, repair, and upgrade software and hardware
- Implementation, setup, and repair of applicable intranets, Local Area Networks (LAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), servers, workstations and stand-alone computers, all associated hardware, and all associated software, under the technical authority and direction of the IM&T function
- System administration activities including management and backup of database servers and resolution of database problems and conflicts; software scripting, SQL database scripting, and associated automation of routine activities
- Designing and the implementation of computer platform protection and recovery, that meets required continuity of operations
- Working with and assisting ISSO staff in the development, implementation, and audit of required site security policies for computer platforms. Contributing to, reviewing, evaluating, coordinating, and making recommendations on all information Technology certification and accreditation submissions.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- High level of Proficiency in Microsoft Operating systems – Desktop and Server
- Experience in providing IT Desktop support direct to clients
- Demonstrable understanding of IT/IS Systems, service support and delivery, including knowledge of PC’s, communication, and infrastructure equipment
- Hold or be capable of attaining UK Developed Vetting Security Clearance is a must
Desirable:
- Certified in CompTIA Security+ or willingness to work towards the qualification with support of the business
- High level of Proficiency in the following technologies: Microsoft Operating Systems – Desktop and Server, VMWare vSphere and Horizon, HP Enterprise hardware – ProLiant Servers and 3PAR SAN, Symantec Backup Exec 15
