We are currently recruiting for an Area Manager to undertake the day to day management of an area covering a number of Client/Customer
sites typically of up to £1.5m per annum turnover, or approximately 12-16 schools.
As the Area Manager you will directly manage the Catering Managers and Cleaning Supervisors and take ownership of service quality, consistency and compliance across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety compliance. Actively and positively implement and promote Health and Safety initiatives involving your team at all stages.
- Ensure compliance to all food development process and procedures.
- Ensure your area team are briefed and compliant with the Food Policies (i.e. cultural, religious, ethnic, allergies, special diets)
- Build and maintain strong relationships and develop effective two way communication with Clients, and other stakeholders providing regular feedback to your Line Manager
- Adopt and maintain a people-focussed management approach
- In liaison with the Operations Manager initiate and implement new ideas that will drive improved satisfaction to our Customers, Clients, Teams and Stakeholders
- Review performance and ensure timely action plans are developed and implemented to drive improved performance throughout your area
- Maintain strict financial control to ensure delivery of sales, costs and profit targets
- This list is not exhaustive, any other duties as and when required
Professional and personal competencies/qualifications
- High energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations
- High level focus on the achievement of targeted results
- Eye for detail ensuring compliance on contract, SLA and legislation
- A minimum 1 years’ experience as an Area Manager in school catering or equivalent, or the potential to develop with additional training and development
- Excellent communications skills and willingness to share knowledge, experience and best practice with others
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers and colleagues
