Job Title: Assistant Risk Manager
Location: Bristol harbourside office, London Gresham st.
Base salary: £32, 680 - £42, 480 (Bristol), £45, 198 - £50, 220 (London only) plus the competitive benefits listed below.
We currently work in a hybrid approach with expected 2 days per week in office. We’re happy to offer flexible work schedules, for example start and finish times, or compressed hours!
Job Description
We have a brilliant opportunity to join the Data and Machine Learning (DML) Risk and Compliance Support team as we develop our approach across the platform! You’ll be at the heart of delivering hugely important RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment) and Operational Risk support, supporting stakeholders with insightful risk advice, managing risks and controls and ensuring we meet RCSA Handbook and Risk Management Framework requirements; ensuring our risk partnering continues to meet business needs.
Reporting to a risk manager you'll conduct risk, compliance and control testing activity across DML.
Here's a summary of what you could be involved in:

Identification and management of risks and issues across a range of RCSA risk categories and with the supporting control development and testing activities

Support the Lab Teams in articulating risks with mitigations and think creatively to support lab risk management

Produce accurate reports and insights from collecting and interpreting data from a variety of standard sources, e.g. RCSA, SNow, CMT,Audit reports, Risk opinions and producing outputs in required format

Keep track of data quality and assurance outcomes, reporting any concerns to ensure action taken to remediate
The minimum skills and experienced you’ll need to apply:

Ability to collect and summarise data into special format reports for risk management data, from various sources

Experience with the core suite of Microsoft office applications and a working knowledge of PowerBI is a must

Investigate incidents and events aligned to current regulatory and compliance processes, systems and procedures, taking action to solve immediate compliance issues and providing advice to colleagues

Experienced in navigating, interpreting, planning and effectively coordination of complex information in a regulatory and compliance environment

Proven experience supporting senior colleagues with tracking of risk parameters and identify and report any major deviation while working within established risk management systems
Ability to work independently prioritising and preparing reports using multiple systems while pulling together data and summarising related risk and compliance outcomes. You’ll also have a strong interpersonal skills with personal resilience, logic thinker alongside a naturally inquisitive nature.

Able to adapt and comfortable engaging with different stakeholders

Have a knowledge of risk and compliance procedures and processes

An understanding of Data Management or Analysis processes or other aspects of the Group’s Data Policy

An understanding of DML applications and teams, Group Data Warehouse and Cloud technology knowledge
